Race to the Ballot Pt.3
This election is one of the most defining moments of this generation. We at the Kapor Center - SMASH, Kapor Foundation, and Kapor Capital - have embarked on a 100 Days of Action for Racial Justice to boldly mobilize civic engagement discourse during this election and beyond.

Join us to discuss what issues are on the ballot this year in Oakland. We will also address concerns of mail-in-ballot, voting in person, voter suppression. Local elections are where a few votes can make a difference. So let’s own our vote together for a more inclusive, equitable Town.

Editors and reporters from The Oaklandside will provide an overview of all the local races and measures on the ballot this year. From city council candidates to prospective school board directors, they’ll also drill down on the candidates, discuss what the stakes are in each race, and talk about what Oakland voters need to know to make sure their vote counts on Election Day, which is going to look a lot different than past years due to the pandemic and shelter-in-place. The last 20 minutes of the hour will be dedicated to answering audience questions.

Tasneem Raja, Editor in chief
